Welcome to the Leeds International Short Film Festival ! Please read the following rules and guidelines carefully to ensure your film meets the submission requirements.

Eligibility

Films must be no longer than 30 minutes, including credits.

Submissions are open to films completed after January 1, 2022.

All genres are accepted, including drama, animation, documentary, experimental, and more.

Non-English films must include English subtitles.


Submission Requirements

Submissions must include:

  • A high-quality digital copy of the film.

  • A brief synopsis of the film.

  • Director’s biography and contact information.

The film must be an original work, and the submitter must hold all necessary rights for its distribution and screening.

All submitted materials should meet the technical specifications required for screening.


Selection Process

Films are evaluated by a panel of professionals based on storytelling, originality, creativity, and technical quality.

Selected films will be notified via email and featured in the festival's official program.


Screening & Exhibition

Selected films will be screened in their original format.

The festival reserves the right to use stills, excerpts, or trailers for promotional purposes.

Filmmakers are encouraged to participate in Q&A sessions and attend networking events during the festival.


General Rules

All films submitted must be original works of the filmmaker, and any copyrighted material used in the film must have proper clearance.

The festival reserves the right to disqualify any film that does not comply with the guidelines.

LISFF is not responsible for any unauthorized use of copyrighted material in submitted films.
